Admission Process
Students must formally apply to the Graduate Certificate in MCH Epidemiology following a two-step process:
Step One-Apply to the certificate program by mail and submit the following application materials:
Application form
Official transcripts from all accredited institutions attended (Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade-point
average of 3.0) Anyone with a bachelor’s degree in any science field is qualified to apply.
Personal statement describing reasons for wanting to enroll in the certificate program (one-page single
spaced)
A resume/CV (educational background, job experiences, current job description indicating
MCH population served)
One letter of recommendation from a person familiar with the applicant’s professional
abilities
A letter from supervisor granting support to complete the program
There is no fee for this application.
In reviewing these materials, priority will be given to applicants who:
Have completed, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree
Have a 3.0 GPA
Are mid-career MCH practitioners
Are minority professionals (American Indian and Alaska Native, Asian, black or African American, Hispanic or
Latino, and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander)
Work in a rural and/or underserved area, and
Have a letter of support from their employers

Scholarships
Financial assistance will be granted to a limited number of students. The scholarships will be provided through a grant awarded by HRSA/MCHB.
Eligible individuals can enroll in the program at their own cost.
Step two: Once applicants have been admitted to the certificate program, applicants must apply online through the University of Arizona Graduate College. We will provide all the information you need to submit this online application.
Once you have been admitted by the UA Graduate College, Outreach College will manage your's course registration for the Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Epidemiology.
